My First Week!

so this first week in korea has been so awesome!!

my mission president and his wife are so awesome, they have so much enthusiasum and want us to be the very best job that we can, and they are really good a cooking and food here is so much better than the MTC.

well my companion is Elder Gordon and he is awesome, his korean is so good and i cant wait to be at the level he is at. he is so encouraging and tells me it will come. Being here in korea makes me realize how much korean i do NOT know, but everytime i talk to pople they tell me i have good korean even though i have no idea they just told me that. anyway i know the language will come eventually. i had to give a talk this sunday in sacrament so that was really fun, everyone thanked me for it even though i have no idea what i said. proselyting here is so fun but hard, we dont go door knocking we just walk around the street talking to as many people as we can. but it is hard in korea, the first hour we got here they had us go talk to people and it was difficult, because suprisingly korea is very christian and there are so many catholic and protestant curches here it is unreal, and a lot of people just think we are a cult so they dont want to talk to us. me and my companion dont really have investigators and the ones that we currently have cancel all the time, im pretty sure we have had about 6 different lessons cancelled this week. so right now we are just trying to find people to teach.

we also teach an english class which is so fun and it is so funny watching all the old korean ladies using slang terms which we taught them, like "that's straight" and "straight up G" and "dude" and "sick" it is hilarious, we probably shouldnt teach them that but it is really fun!!!

everything here is so much different everything is ridiculouly close to eachother, there are so many people just walking around, im pretty sure i have never seen so many old ladies before in my entire life. but it is so funny because old people here do whatever they want, my companion was telling me a story about when he saw an old lady crossing the street and the car waiting honked and she just stopped and the guy kept honking and he eventually got out of the car and helped her cross the street and as he drove away she hit his car with her cane. i will send pictures next week of the area i serve in and hopefully have some good ones.

our ward mission leader is awesome his name is brother 고 (go) his english is really good and he was a former member of the 70 so he is pretty much the coolest guy ever.

my area is called 개봉 (gay-bong), and it is sweet our house is pretty cool and we share it with another companionship but they are awesome so it is really fun there, 개봉  means "opening" so it is awesome to come to a place named that and it is like the opening of my mission experience. it is so crowded here but, but all the people are so nice, but im not kidding when i say this it is so easy to scare them, dont know how to explain it you would just have to see it to know what i am talking about. restuarants here have people deliver on mopedds and they are probably the craziest drivers in the world no joke, they run red lights all the time they go up on the sidewalk whenever they feel like it, i am so suprised i have not seen an accident yet, but if i had a dollar for everytime i saw someone almost get in an accident then i would be very rich. anyways ill send pictures next week when i remember my SD card reader.

well this work is amazing and it is such a blessing to be a part of it. i hope this email made any sense because my english sucks, i love it here in korea and i love the people here, they are all so loving and special and eventhough not all of them will listen, there will be atleast one person im supposed to find and with all these people that will be hard but i know God will guide me and help me find him or her. i love my savior and all that he has done for me and no matter what we do for him we will always be in his debt, but all he asks of us is to do our best and he will make up the rest so we can never thank God and Jesus Christ enough! so i encourage you in every good thing that happens to you no matter how smalll then your Heavenly father and he will continue to bless you and strengthen you. He loves you and i know that he knows all of you by name and he wants the best for you! well i would not want to be anywhere else in the world, right now this place is awesome, this is such a special place to me and i love that, it is another holy place i can stand in and with all the comotion i can still feel the Lords love in my heart. well i will tell you more stories next week, this week was pretty uneventful with all the cancellations but that is ok, i love you and miss you alll so mucchhhhh and you are all such great examples to me and im grateful that have been in my life and the life to come. I love you all so much, GOD BE WITH YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN!!!
